Thank you for your interest in purchasing Professional Firefighter License Plates through the Texas State Fire Fighters Emergency Relief and Scholarship Fund. Plate Options & Fees
- Standard Plates: $30
- Personalized Plates: $70
A portion of each fee is donated to the Texas Fire Fighters Emergency Relief and Scholarship Fund, benefiting dependents of Professional Fire Fighters.
Note: The tax-deductible amount for federal income tax purposes is limited to the excess of your contribution over the fair market value of the license plates. Standard plates have a fair market value (TxDOT fee) of $25.00, while personalized plates have a fair market value of $65.00.
Application Process
Incomplete applications will be returned. Please follow these steps carefully.
1. Download the Application: Click the button below to download the application form.
2. Complete the Application: Fill out all required fields in the application form.
3. Provide Proof of IAFF Membership:
- Attach a copy of your IAFF membership card, OR
- If you can't find your card, obtain a signed letter from your Local Secretary stating your membership and good standing. Ensure the letter includes your Local's seal.
4. Submit Your Application:
- Take your completed application and membership proof to your local county tax-assessor's office.
- Include a check for the appropriate fee ($30 for standard plates or $70 for personalized plates).
The vehicle for which you're ordering plates must be registered in your name.
Your county tax office will mail your new license plates to you when they're ready.
